Gemma Foster is an Assistant Solicitor in our Family & Child Care Department at Williamsons. Gemma gained her Honours Law Degree at Lancaster University in 2005 and completed her Legal Practice Course at the York College of Law in 2007. She joined Williamsons in 2008 to complete her 2 year training contract and subsequently qualified as a Solicitor in July 2010. Prior to joining Williamsons, she worked for a large city Law Firm primarily within the Civil Litigation Department.

Gemma now works exclusively within the Family & Child Care Department and specialises particularly in Private Children Law Proceedings including contact and residence disputes. She also has a wealth of experience dealing with emergency Children Act Proceedings, such as obtaining an order for the return of a child or prohibiting the removal of a child from a person or jurisdiction. Gemma also specialises in cases concerning domestic abuse where urgent applications can be made under Part IV of the Family Law Act.
