News

Did you know over half of UK adults have not written a Will, with 23% putting it off until they are older and 11% (often incorrectly) assuming that their estate will automatically go to the right person when they die.

Making a Will is a straightforward process. It ensures your loved ones are looked after when you die and it can make things easier for your family after you pass away. Your Will can also cover a range of provisions to suit your individual circumstances such as:

  • Specific burial wishes you may have
  • Who you would like to be responsible for administering your estate
  • A guardian who would look after your children if you die before they are 18
  • Specific gifts, for example sentimental items to a relative, or a legacy to a charity
  • Who you want to benefit from the remainder of your estate and at what age
  • Provisions for any potential Inheritance Tax issues or care fee concerns.

It’s never too early to make a Will and by making your Will with Williamsons, you can be assured that your questions will be answered by an experienced lawyer. We then use our expertise in this area to guide you through the various decisions that need to be made and advise you according to your individual circumstances.
