Jeans for Genes

29 September 2014

News, Our Community

On Friday 19th September 2014, staff at Williamsons Solicitors put on their jeans and donated for the Jeans for Genes charity.

With everyone’s help at Williamsons, we managed to raise a total of £117.50!

Jeans for Genes raises money for Genetic Disorders UK and aims to change the world for children with genetic disorders.

Individually, genetic disorders are rare but together they affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK – that’s more than 30,000 babies each year. Their associated health problems mean that genetic disorders are the biggest cause of death of children aged 14 years and under.

Giving just a £10 donation will pay for 60 minutes of specialist telephone advice for parents caring for a child with severe neurological genetic conditions. Giving as much as a £1,000 donation will help fund a film for teenagers with a life limiting condition, helping them to come to terms with, and encouraging them to begin to take responsibility for, their condition.

Williamsons continue to raise money for deserving charities such as Jeans for Genes, Cancer Research UK and Dove House Hospice.
