Macmillan Coffee Morning at Williamsons

18 August 2016

News, Our Community

Every year Macmillan invites people to hold coffee mornings, with all donations made on the day sent directly to Macmillan to help them meet their goals of providing medical, emotional, practical and financial support to cancer sufferers.

The Industrial Disease Department at Williamsons has many clients who suffer with diseases such as asbestosis and mesothelioma as a result of being exposed to dangerous substances during their employment. The Department recognises that Macmillan provides vital support needed from diagnosis to treatment and beyond and is holding their now annual coffee morning to raise money for the charity.

Last year we raised nearly £200 for the charity.

How your money will help

Whilst each and every donation is appreciated, the following amounts make a real difference:

£27 could pay for a Macmillan nurse to spend an hour with someone who has just been told they have cancer.

£61 could pay for a Macmillan adviser to spend a morning with someone who is struggling to make ends meet as a result of living with cancer

£278 could keep a Macmillan support centre stocked for a month with all the things it needs to support families affected by cancer.

When and Where

Cakes will be available to clients and the public in the main reception in our Hull office from 9.30am until midday on Tuesday 13th September 2016.
