| National recognition for Williamsons. The family department of Williamsons Solicitors is celebrating its first entry in the latest edition of a respected legal guide.
The Legal 500, which is an independent appraisal of solicitors’ standing and a reference tool for buyers of legal services, highlights Williamsons’ reputation for its work in high value divorce cases. |

The guide is the most in-depth survey of the UK legal market, and analyses more than 1,000 law firms and more than 220 sets of barristers chambers. Family law specialist, Zoe Atkinson, who runs the Driffield branch of Williamsons on Exchange Street, said that she was proud of the inclusion in the guide. “It’s very rewarding when your efforts are recognised nationally,” she said.
Head of department, Sarah Clubley, who was born and brought up in Driffield, said that the department had attracted and retained talented and empathetic solicitors.
“We have supported our staff in obtaining a range of qualifications, with many in the family department having Higher Advocacy Rights enabling them to practice in UK courts of appeal and higher courts. We have invested in an in-house qualified mediator and a number of our solicitors have coveted membership of the Law Society Children Panel and the Advanced Family Law Panel.”
In total, Williamsons’ family department employs seven family solicitors, two trainee solicitors, one member of the Institute of Legal Executives and five legal clerks.
