The Canary Islands are the most popular holiday destination for divorcees, a survey has found.
The Spanish islands are Britons’ number 1 destination for a solo trip after splitting up according to holiday experts On The Beach.
Since ‘no fault’ divorce legislation came into force in April, numbers of divorces have rocketed with applications twice that of a year ago.
While the Canaries are luring 23 per cent of divorcees – many newly single – Turkey is in second place on 18 per cent and mainland Spain third on 17 per cent.
