Women in Business was established in 1996. It was the aspiration of a few women who had identified the need for an organisation where women could meet informally to exchange ideas, network and create business opportunities. Over the years the membership has grown and continues to do so.
The Women in Business is an organisation inclusive of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and other committed members. The organisation objective is to provide support, friendship and networking. Members of Women in Business meet monthly and one of their key aims is to provide enlightening and enjoyable events. These events encourage members to engage and create new friendships and business contacts.
Every other year, the organisation holds the Women of Achievement Awards (WoAA). This is to recognise and celebrate some fantastic achievements of women working within different sectors of business.
Williamsons Solicitors are participating in the WoAA 2014, as we are the programme sponsors on the day itself and have also got a table for 10. One of our experienced criminal solicitor’s here at Williamsons, Emma Dann, is an active member of Women in Business, and has been involved with the organisation for 10 years, having also been a member of the committee.
The WoAA is taking place on Friday 28th November 2014 at the Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel and will be hosted by bestselling international author, inspirational speaker, TV presenter and charity campaigner Katie Piper. The event has already managed to sell out all tickets!
