Collaborative Law
Collaborative Law helps couples to reach agreements together and amicably on the issues that arise from their divorce or separation.
The benefits of Collaborative Law
- Negotiations between you and your partner will be held at meetings attended by the both of you with your solicitors present. You can make your own decisions but we will be there to help you both with information and advice.
- At the beginning of the negotiations everyone involved will sign a Participation Agreement that commits them to working together as a team to sort the matters out, not to oppose each other or end up in Court.
- You both decide on the agenda and pace of the negotiations to reach an agreement that you both think is fair.
After you have reached an agreement together, we will process the paperwork for you to ensure that your agreement is legally binding.
Our specialist Collaborative Law solicitor, Karen Saunders, has extensive experience in this field. She has been a solicitor since 1984, a Collaborative solicitor since 2006 and is a member of the Hull and East Yorkshire Collaborative Law Group.
