Case Study

Claimant left with fractured wrist, following a visit to her local supermarket.

29 July 2021

Mrs B had just completed her food shop and was at the checkout of her local supermarket. Upon moving the supermarket trolley, one of the wheels became locked which caused the trolley to start to fall to its side, causing Mrs B to suffer injury.

Personal Injury Solicitors No Win No FeeLiability had been admitted immediately as there had been a clear breach of duty. As a result of the accident Mrs B suffered with a wrist fracture, developed frozen shoulder and was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

Due to the unpredictable nature of CRPS there was a small but real risk that Mrs B would not make a full recovery and that she may be left with some limitation of movement in fingers, wrist and shoulder in the long term.

Clinical Negligence - ReviewsMrs B had initially been unable to return to her job as a cleaner due to the nature of her symptoms. She experienced challenges in her day to day life as she was unable to perform the simple tasks of cleaning, driving or even carrying the shopping, because the movement of her arm/shoulder caused her great pain.

Mrs B did undergo some physical rehabilitation and luckily, the majority of her symptoms greatly improved some 2 years later. Williamsons secured her compensation in the sum of just under £35,000.00.

At Williamsons, we provide our clients with specialist advice throughout the duration of the personal injury claim.
