Our client was attending a car show when the driver of one of the cars lost control of their vehicle and hit our client.
Initially it was found that the driver at fault had the wrong insurance in place. However, after suitable investigations Williamsons were able to identify the Defendant’s correct insurance details to submit the claim and liability was conceded.
Our client suffered multiple injuries, with the main injury being to their eye. Our client suffered a haemorrhagic posterior vitreous detachment to the eye. This means that the vitreous gel which normally fills the back chamber of the eye, had separated from the retinal membrane lining the inner surface of the back of the eye. This detachment had caused a bleed from the retina surface into the vitreous gel. The blood dispersing through the gel has resulted in blurring of the vision, which luckily was only temporary. However, following the detachment, the gel broke up into ‘floaters’ which are now present in their vision.
Williamsons secured our client compensation in the sum of £12,000.00.
