Mrs A, a healthcare assistant had taken her grandson to Gulliver’s Splash Zone in Milton Keynes for what was meant to be a fun day out during the summer holidays.
Her grandson went down a water slide and she followed afterwards. The slide was monitored by two members of staff with walkie-talkies, one at the bottom and one at the top.
Towards the end of the slide Mrs A came to an unexpected stop and had to inch her way down the remainder of the slide. Before she got all the way to the bottom, another boy had been permitted to enter the slide and he inevitably caught up with Mrs A, resulting in a nasty collision between the boys feet and the back of Mrs A’s head and neck.
As a result, Mrs A suffered a heavy blow to the back of her head and an injury to her neck. She continued to suffer with headaches for many months following the accident and consulted with an osteopath and a Neurologist.
Williamsons successfully argued that the waterpark ‘s staff were at fault for this avoidable accident and were able to secure compensation for Mrs A in excess of £5000.00.
