Five Senses Expressive Arts and Educational Centre

Jannina Beckett, Solicitor, and Charlotte Pritchard, Trainee Solicitor, of the Wills and Probate Department at Williamsons Solicitors, Hull, attended at the 5 Senses Expressive Arts and Education Centre, Hull, as guest speakers on July 10, 2013.

 

 

Jannina and Charlotte were invited, by Avocet Trust, as guest speakers to families, guardians and carers of adults and children with learning difficulties and autism.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Areas for discussion included the following:-

1. Wills/Statutory Wills
2. Mental Capacity Act 2005
3. Lasting Powers of Attorney
4. Court of Protection Applications
5. Advance Directive Decisions
6. Trusts

This was followed by a question and answer session.

Avocet saw this as an opportunity to give further insight into the legal aspects of the above areas of practice. Initial feedback was very positive and Avocet is considering events of this nature in the future. Also in attendance were the CEO, Les Howell of Avocet and John Cartwright, Avocet Nurse Consultant
