Kidney Case Settled after 6 Year Legal Battle

Wayne Walker, Solicitor in our Clinical Negligence department, has helped Sharon Hannington settle her case after a six year legal battle. Ms Hannington was awarded a five figure sum by Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and says when her kidneys went into failure after her kidney transplant, her pain was dismissed.

“They saw someone in a wheelchair with no legs, they didn’t see me,” said Ms Hannington. “I was made to feel like my life had no value. It wasn’t about the money for me, it was about winning.”

Wayne Walker, Solicitor, says: “It is testament to Sharon that she had the drive and determination to follow this through.

“Money was never her driving force. Instead she wanted confirmation that those treating her did not take her concerns sufficiently serious.”
