RSPB Bempton Cliffs

10 February 2015

News

We are absolutely delighted to join forces with RSPB Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve, near Bridlington; the UK’s largest and most accessible, mainland seabird colony.

The RSPB protect threatened birds and wildlife so our towns, coast and countryside will teem with life once again. They play a leading role in a worldwide

partnership of nature conservation organisations.

The reserve is currently undergoing major development to create a new Seabird Centre and is due to re-open in spring 2015.  It is hoped the new centre, car parks, pathways and activities and events programme will enable the RSPB to provide an even better visitor offer than it does already.

The creation of a larger indoor space will also allow for the delivery of an indoor education programme with local primary schools, which can be used when the weather is bad.

One of the RSPB’s key objectives of this work is to enthuse children with a love for nature, get them outdoors to experience nature and become the future guardians of our region’s wonderful wildlife.

To assist the RSPB at Bempton, we have agreed to purchase 50 pooters, which will allow visitors of all ages to collect and analyse bugs of all kinds.
