Sailors’ Children’s Society Sportsman’s Lunch 2018

Sailors’ Children’s Society is organising its largest ever Sportsman’s Lunch and inviting 670 guests!

The sell-out lunch which has been running for over 20 years and previously held at the Mercure Hotel, Willerby is moving to the new DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Ferensway which has enabled the charity to offer the opportunity to another 200 guests to attend.

Deanne Thomas, Chief Officer of the Society said “We are extremely fortunate that so many local businesses support the lunch and delighted that we can now offer places for more guests.  Last year we raised over £40,000 at the event, all of which was used to provide clothing and welfare grants throughout the winter months to the disadvantaged children we support from Royal Navy, Fishing Fleet and families who work on the ferries, offshore platforms and wind farms”

Bill Waddington of Williamsons Solicitors said “We at Williamsons are proud to have sponsored this event for many years and I’m pleased to say that the team at the Society have already sold 610 tickets.  There are just 6 tables left available to book. Hopefully this will be  a bumper year for the Charity and a really enjoyable and worthwhile afternoon for all those who attend the event .”
