Tour de Yorkshire 2017

What is The 2017 Tour de Yorkshire?

The 2017 Tour de Yorkshire is a huge three-day cycling stage race to be staged in Yorkshire over 28–30 April 2017. It is the third edition of the Tour de Yorkshire and is organised by Welcome to Yorkshire and the Amaury Sport Organisation.

Stage One

Stage one of the collosal event will be starting on Friday 28th April in The Heart of The Yorkshire Coast, Bridlington and will finish in Scarborough at a length of 173KM in total.

Communities plan to “Dress to impress” for the Tour de Yorkshire. The paint brushes are out, sewing bees are busy in a hive of workshops and bunting is being strung, ready to embellish the coast in a rainbow of yellow and blue.

Stage Two

Stage two will be starting on Saturday 29th April in Tadcaster. Tadcaster’s newly re-opened bridge will star as the start of the one-day women’s race and stage two of the men’s race. Riders will sweep over the eighteenth-century grade 2 listed bridge – rebuilt earlier this year to reconnect both sides of the town, and the race will finish in Harrogate.

Stage Three

Last but not least, affectionately named ‘The Yorkshire Terrier’, the 194.5km stage three route of the Tour de Yorkshire will return to Bradford on Sunday 30 April 2017. The race rolls out from City Park, before starting the leg just outside Baildon. The riders continue to wind their way through the hilly routes of Bradford and District and then carry on through Calderdale and Kirklees to end at Fox Valley in Sheffield.
