A new ranking of the UK’s leading legal businesses showed Williamsons Solicitors to be Hull and East Yorkshire’s top criminal law firm.
Director Bill Waddington, head of Williamsons’ defence advocacy department, has been ranked as the region’s leader in the Legal 500, with the firm’s clinical negligence department also featuring prominently.
Ranked among some of the top firms in Harrogate, Leeds and Sheffield, the department employs a team of 17, including six solicitors and three police station representatives.
Director Bill Waddington, who is chairman of the Criminal Law Solicitors Associaton, said: “Williamsons continue to go from strength to strength and despite the continued threat posed by the Government’s changes to Legal Aid we are unwavering in striving to provide excellent client service from top notch, highly trained solicitors and support staff.
“We realise the importance of a full and proper defence in court – even if the Government doesn’t.
“It’s great to see that focus on excellence across the board has been rewarded with a notice for our work in criminal law and also in clinical negligence where Tim Slow, Nick Gray and Wayne Walker combine to provide expert advice in this complex area of law.”
