On Friday the 3rd of February, the staff at Williamsons will be wearing an item of red clothing to support the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. A minimum of £2 will be donated by each person wearing red with the money raised contributing to much needed equipment, resources and research, in addition to providing a support to both the child and their families.
The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund exists in the regions of Yorkshire, Humberside and North Lincolnshire. In addition to helping the lives and families of children undergoing procedures for heart surgery, the fund also helped to campaign against the cessation of heart surgeries in Yorkshire, a proposal that would have meant children would have been moved to hospitals in Newcastle, Birmingham and Liverpool for surgery.
