AvMA - ACTION AGAINST MEDICAL ACCIDENTS
Simon is a solicitor with 30 years post qualification experience. He has worked for the whole of his career securing compensation for individuals, from across the country, who have suffered injury and loss either following an accident or arising from their medical treatment.
In a number of cases Simon has been involved with the family long after the compensation claim has been settled using his experience to help manage awards and advise on the appropriate expertise needed by clients in later life as they meet challenges over time that they have not had to meet in the past. This can be particularly the case with medical accidents involving trauma at birth.
Assisting with the setting up of care regimes, projects to adapt homes to meet the needs of any disability, obtaining specially adapted motor vehicles or other aids and appliances are just some of the projects that Simon has been involved in. Simon has secured millions of pounds of compensation following medical accidents for clients over the years.
Simon has worked with the local Citizens Advice Bureau for many years. He carries out regular voluntary sessions with DIAL UK giving advice on disability related issues. He has been involved with Headway, a charity assisting brain injured individuals and is a member of AvMA’s panel of specialist clinical negligence lawyers, the charity promoting action against medical accidents, as well as a Law Society Clinical Negligence panel member
Outside of work, Simon, a former President of the Old Hymerians Association, enjoys sport although his participation these days is limited to watching his children play and watching them disappear over the horizon on the ski slopes! He is a lifelong season ticket holder at Hull City.W
