The 13-year-old was diagnosed with severe athetoid cerebral palsy due to the mistakes could have been avoided as medical staff failed to respond when his mum, Sue, suffered a rupture in the placenta. Daniel’s heart rate began fluctuating which was not acted upon.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust admitted liability for 75 per cent of the full value of the claims in 2013.

Wayne Walker from our Clinical Negligence department comments that “Even after an admission was made in 2013, it still takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to conclude cases.”
