It is important for anybody who feels that they may have a Clinical Negligence claim to ensure that they speak to a specialist.

These cases can be difficult, costly and time consuming and taking on the health Trust, and their lawyers, is no easy matter. The Trust will have the resources to call on the best experts to help them to escape liability often leaving injured individuals out of pocket when they clearly have good cases.

The question is how do you know who is a specialist? Many solicitors can claim to be specialists, but it is only by means of external accreditation that you can be sure.

It is not a case of us saying we are specialists, it is more meaningful if a credible, external organisation tests us against their criteria and they say we are specialists.

This is precisely what we have done at Williamsons.

There are two highly regarded Panels for Clinical Negligence Solicitors to be on. The Law Society Panel and the Panel organised by AVMA, the charity Action for the Victims of Medical Accidents.

It was therefore particularly pleasing that Simon Ramshaw‘s membership of the AVMA Panel has been extended by a period of 3 years up until the 31st July 2021. Simon was granted membership of the Panel shortly after joining Williamsons in 2015, but only for a provisional period of 2 years to enable a further rigorous review of Simon’s work at Williamsons before granting the further 3 years of the standard 5 year term.

The assessment was made after review of Williamsons systems, and a selection of cases that Simon had settled in his time here, particularly those with high value.

We are pleased to confirm that Simon, and Williamsons , passed with flying colours.
