Weddings to get easier

The Government is looking to cut wedding red tape and create the opportunity for couples to get married at the venue of their dreams.

A review has been announced of the law on how and where wedding ceremonies can take place.

Sarah Clubley, Director & Head of Family & Child Care, hopes that the outcome of this review, which is expected to take two years, could create new opportunities for civil ceremonies in couples’ private homes, out of doors, at sea, or for service personnel on military sites.

Sarah adds “It is hoped that this initiative will support couples who wish to celebrate their happy day in their own personal way and will ensure that the legal arrangements for marriage keep with the expectations of 21st Century Britain”.

There is some more detail on the changes in Country Living magazine.
