Williamsons Solicitors has been revealed as Hull and East Yorkshire’s top criminal law firm in the Chambers guide for 2014, one of the country’s leading national law guides.

From offices in Hull, Bridlington and Driffield, its defence advocacy department employs a team of 20, including six solicitors, four police station representatives, one paralegal and nine support staff.

The guide identifies the team for its broad criminal law coverage and solicitors and higher court advocates ‘who are able to handle serious crimes such as murder, manslaughter and serious sexual offences’.

Director and head of the department Bill Waddington is picked out as a notable practitioner: ‘The extremely well-regarded Bill Waddington is renowned particularly for his specialism in crime-related work, while also undertaking regulatory and road traffic matters,’ says the guide.

“It’s very satisfying to see that we are, once again, selected as one of the main firms across the region, and lead the way with our defence work. I’m pleased with the personal plaudits, but we work very closely as a team here and within the firm we have very strong departments across the board.”
