Assignment of a Lease

This is the process under which the existing tenant of the lease transfers its interest and obligations in the lease to a third party, who then becomes the tenant.

There may be restrictions in the lease on the tenant transferring it to a third party and therefore the lease must always be reviewed before the lease is transferred.
