Services we provide
Our highly skilled Defence Advocacy Department deals with all forms of defence and representation. We are by far the largest firm in the region with a dedicated team and we operate a 24/7/365 callout scheme on 01482 221496 (including all public and bank holidays).
We have dealt with, and have considerable experience in, every single type of criminal offence ranging from the very low end of the scale – minor Shop Theft and minor Public Order Act offences – through to the most serious including Murder, Manslaughter (and Corporate Manslaughter), Drugs Importation Offences, sexual offences and so on.
We also are involved on a very regular basis with all types of Road Traffic Offences dealing with people who have been caught Speeding and Driving Without Insurance, people who are driving whilst disqualified and people who are in charge of vehicles in excess alcohol or breathalyser cases.
Williamsons has built up a strong reputation of winning cases for our clients, and, as such, a lot of our work is on recommendation from previous clients. For more details of the criminal defence services we can offer, please choose one of the headings below.
How we can help
Our Criminal Defence Department has extensive experience in dealing with all types of Defence through the whole range of Criminal offences. We have a highly experienced team of Solicitors (some of whom are also Higher Courts Advocates, meaning if a case goes to the Crown Court, the same Advocate can deal with you from start to finish), and they are supported by a team of experienced Accredited Police Station Representatives whose job it is to assist the lawyers in the work at the Police Stations and also in the preparatory work when matters are at Court.
Public Funding (many know it as Legal Aid) is available to those who qualify. There are two qualifying criteria namely:
- Financial eligibility
- The interests of justice test.
Any member of our team would be able to tell you whether you are likely to qualify for Legal Aid.
If you do not, then we will be more than happy to deal with you on a private fee-paying basis and we will be happy to give you details of our charge out rates.
At Williamsons, our aim is to achieve the best possible outcome for you in your case.W
