Wear it Pink Day 2026 – Raising awareness of breast cancer
Reading Time: 2 minutes
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and on 23 October, people across the UK will be reaching for something pink in support of Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear It Pink’ day. In offices, schools, fundraisers and family kitchens, Wear It Pink has become one of the year’s best-loved ways to show support, raise money, and get people talking about breast cancer.

Pink wigs, pink cakes and pink ties might look like a bit of light-hearted fun but there is a serious message behind the colour. Breast cancer remains the most common cancer in the UK, with around 55,000 women and 400 men diagnosed every year. This equates to nearly one person every ten minutes.
Our clinical negligence department sees first-hand how devastating it can be when cancers, including breast cancer, are not diagnosed or treated in time. A delayed referral, a missed symptom, or a failure to act on scan results can be the difference between an illness that is curable and one that is not.
A splash of pink, a serious purpose
At Williamsons, we will have an office full of pink outfits on 23 October. It isn’t just us; this adds up to a nationwide movement that has raised over £45 million since 2002 for Breast Cancer Now, funding vital research and support services.
For those of us in the legal sector, taking part is also a way to stand alongside clients who have faced not only a diagnosis but the added burden of medical errors along the way. It is a reminder that behind every case, there is a person, a family and a story of real courage.
How to get involved
Wear it — a scarf, a tie, or head-to-toe neon pink. Every splash of colour counts.
Bake it — because, let’s be honest, pink-iced cakes make every workplace better.
Share it — use social media to raise awareness, donate, and remind friends and colleagues to check themselves regularly.
And most importantly: if you notice any changes to your breasts; a lump, skin changes, discharge, or pain, speak to your GP straight away.
- Do not wait.
- Do not dismiss it.
- Early action saves lives.
