Katy originates from Hull and studied law at the local university, graduating in 2007. She undertook her Legal Practice Course through the University of West of England in 2013 and completed her Professional Skills Course in Leeds in 2018.
Katy joined Williamsons in 2018 and has over 15 years’ experience in all aspects of public and private family law. She has worked within the legal sector since leaving school, although took a 5-year career break whilst raising her young daughter, working as a secretary for a financial adviser during this time, gaining valuable knowledge regarding the financial sector.
Katy’s main interest is in public law proceedings; however, she undertakes all sectors of family work including domestic abuse cases, public law proceedings, and private children law proceedings. Katy has previously worked with other local professionals and members of the judiciary in setting up the running of the Walker Street Child Contact Centre (now Bridge Child Contact Centre).
Katy has an empathetic and caring approach with clients. She prides herself on understanding the importance of guiding clients through difficult and often complex family proceedings.
In her spare time, Katy enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling and walking her dog (Patterdale Terrier).
